World largest seal The name of the world's largest seal is SOUTHERN ELEPHANT SEAL This seal is also called BEACH BULLDOZER. The largest carnivore that breeds on land is ten times heavier than the male southern elephant seal polar bear. Males also weigh five times more than females. Elephants spend up to eight months in the open sea, traveling large distances in search of food. During a fishing dive, they can hold their breath for up to two hours - the longest for any marine mammal. SIZE:- 6½–20 ft (2–6 m) long; 790–11,025 lb (360–5,000 kg) in weight (males much longer and heavier than females) HABITAT :-Stony beaches and adjoining seas.
